CHRISTOPHER W. KINUM

Christopher W. Kinum is a passionate and tenacious trial attorney. Since joining the firm in 1998, Mr. Kinum has aggressively and successfully prosecuted high-stakes cases in many specialized areas of civil law.

Mr. Kinum focuses on the following types of cases:

  • Nursing Home Malpractice - cases against nursing homes that neglect and/or abuse their elderly residents
  • Civil Rights - §1983 excessive force and false arrest cases against overzealous law enforcement agencies and officers
  • Traumatic Brain Injury - cases involving people whose lives have been significantly impacted by a serious head injury
  • Construction Accidents - cases involving roofers and members of the construction trades who sustain severe personal injuries at unsafe job sites
  • Products Liability - suits against the manufacturers of defective and unsafe products
  • Inadequate Premises Security - cases against business owners and landlords who fail to protect their patrons and tenants from the criminal acts of third parties
  • Automobile Negligence - cases involving intoxicated and/or reckless automobile drivers and truck drivers
  • Premises Liability - cases involving individuals who sustain significant injuries as a result of a fall.

    In the criminal arena, Mr. Kinum’s practice involves defending individuals and businesses ensnared in government investigations involving allegations of securities fraud, tax fraud and public corruption. He has also successfully defended individuals charged with vehicular homicide and harassment.

    Mr. Kinum was recognized by Trial Lawyers Care and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America for his work representing families who lost loved ones in connection with the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack at the World Trade Center.

    As a young attorney, Mr. Kinum spent four years litigating cases throughout the country as an associate at two of New Jersey’s largest and most respected litigation firms. He received a B.A. degree in 1991 from Bowdoin College cum laude and a J.D. degree in 1994 from Seton Hall University School of Law cum laude. He served as a Barrister in the Seton Hall University School of Law Inn of Court and is an active member of the American Association for Justice – New Jersey and National chapters and the Essex County Bar Association.
